DEC. 20, 2013. According to Ms. Venable, ”TIS THE SEASON TO GIVE to THOSE IN NEED”. Ms. Venable is one out of many people who make the holiday season special at FPCS Chamberlain.
This month Chamberlain’s core value is Caring. So for the holiday season we are having a competition to see which class gives or shares the most donations. Christmas baskets are filled with food donations (non-perishable items), clothing donations (coats, hats, scarfs, gloves and more) toy donations and gifts cards for families. The students and teachers are responsible for donating the items and designing the basket. The baskets can be a box or other items that can be utilized and decorated.
Yes! Organic Market donated a $50 gift card to FNN earlier this Fall. Students agreed it would be special to use it for the holiday baskets. We walked a few blocks to the Yes! Organic Market in Capitol Hill to shop for food to put in the baskets. We were able to purchase canned food and other healthy items for the baskets thanks to the kindness from our local Yes! Organic Market.
Students at Chamberlain are thankful to everyone who participated and made the baskets for the holiday season.
Mikhail Minor and Candace Spruill are 5th grade students and Camila Daniel is a 6th grade student at Friendship Chamberlain Academy.
Jalen Green is an 8th grade student at Friendship Chamberlain Academy.
