Friendship Collegiate Academy (FCA) celebrated its 2013 Homecoming November 4th – 9th.

The Mr. and Ms. Friendship Collegiate Academy pageant was one of many homecoming events and was hosted by students  JaRonda Roberts and Xavier Gilbert.

The contestants were Jasmine Borne, Jasmine Dickey, Fatima Hollins, Tanya Kilber and Monica Matthews.  The Mr. FCA contestants were Andre Glosson, Jahliel Phillips, Fahim Muhammad, Jaylen Woodson, and Dre’Von Wright. Each contestant competed in three categories: talent, evening wear, and question and answer.

The evening began with contestants introducing themselves. Next, was the talent competition where the contestants danced, sang, rapped, performed spoken word and showed fashion designs.

During the pageant’s evening wear competition female contestants gracefully sashayed across the stage in gorgeous gowns while the male contestants swaggered across the stage donned in striking suits—including one contestant who wore FCA’s signature navy blazer and khaki uniform.

The pageant’s finale consisted of the question and answer segment.  The four judges scored each area of competiton (talent, evening wear, question and answer) in the order of each performance. After the results were tallied, the Ms. FCA winner (Homecoming Queen) was Monica Matthews and Mr. FCA (Homecoming King) was Jaylen Woodson. The newly crowned Homecoming Queen and Homecoming King were congratulated by an admiring crowd.
