"Grands Are Great" Day
/STORY BY SEAN BEACH. PHOTO BY DARIUS JOHNSON
On Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 8:30- 9:30am, there was a Grandparents Day program for the grandparents of Friendship Southeast students. The host of the program was Mrs. Simmons. First our grandparents were given a light breakfast. Then two girl scouts, Serenity Greene and Ziyah Anderson presented the American flag and said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. After that Mr. Speight (Principal of Friendship Southeast) gave a warm welcome to the grandparents. Following the welcome, Imani Smith gave the history of Grandparents Day. After that I, Sean Beach, gave a poem called "Happy Grandparents Day”. Amaria Robbins sang "Children of the Future ". Then Imani and I gave another poem. If you were there you would have liked it—just like I did.
Sean Beach and Darius Johnson are 5th grade students at Friendship Southeast Academy.
